Eileen Nieling

Eileen Nieling is an editor based in Cologne, Germany. She holds a B.A. in Cultural Studies and has worked across editorial, social media and storytelling roles, including as a junior editor for the Netflix YouTube channel and as a reporter and host for an arts and culture platform. She regularly publishes essays on pop culture and society on Substack (@fingeruebungen) in German and English. Her writing often sits at the intersection of everyday life as a woman, her immigrant perspective and public discourse. With this contribution, she writes about living with PMDS. About a body that doesn’t fit into routines, the medicine that fails her and other women, and the exhausting work of getting up and trying again and again.
