Margarita M.
Margarita (she/her) identifies as queer and lives between worlds and words, among the subtleties and invisible threads of life, connecting languages and cultures. Poetry is considered a form of excavation within herself and a tool of exploration of the world in order to bring into existence images, feelings, and emotions. To understand and reshape reality. Some of her poems have found a home at Sunday Morning By The River, Poetic Reveries, Swim Press Magazine, Bacchanalia Lit Magazine and Historica Edizioni (in italian). She likes to think that she is actively working on the publication of her first chapbook. She currently lives in Greece with her seven cats and two dogs.
Five day rule
Take the pill for 7 days in a row, thrice a day. Then wait 5 days. Then you will bleed for 5 days like a lamb at slaughter, and your pain will equal the vixen’s screams when she steps into a trap. The vixen will try to chew her leg away.
Please don’t emulate her. Then you will wait for another 5 days and the bleeding won’t stop. You will run out of pads and you will still feel bloated and stabs of pain will fire your nerve endings and your shrieks will still equal the vixen’s. But you will be quiet and scream silently, muffling them in your pillow, under your duvet. Like good girls.
And wait for another 5 days. The rule of thumb is that eventually the bleeding will stop. The rule of thumb is that eventually the pills you take will be effective. The rule of thumb is that after 5 more days your body will adjust to the new therapy without needing to check into an emergency room or feeling your insides split. The 5 days rule always works for any woman. For every body. For all subjects with a knack for heavy bleeding. The rule is golden, it always works. Please wait. Please keep waiting. 5 more days.
